I know I was lacking, but I’ll work on my skills in order to improve as an actress and meet you all again. My ‘Dream High’ family, my miss A unnis, and all of those who loved ‘Dream High’, thank you. I will never forget the winter I spent life as ‘Go Hyemi.’”

Actresses Shim Eun Ha & Ha Ji Won attended Big Bang’s “2011 Big Show”

It looks like Big Bang attracted some big names to their “2011 Big Show“, as it’s being reported that actresses Shim Eun Ha and Ha Ji Won were seen at the concert!

Shim Eun Ha retired from the industry a while back, but she’s remained a hot topic for avid fans who still appreciate her talented skills. She attended the concert with her husband, Ji Sang Wook, in comfortable attire and even visited the boys’ waiting room after the concert.

On February 28th, a representative of YG Entertainment commented, “Shim Eun Ha-ssi did not ask for a separate ticket. We believe she purchased them on her own in order to attend.”

Ha Ji Won also visited the boys and congratulated them on a successful concert by praising, “Your concert was so much fun, I enjoyed watching it.” It’s said that she also highly enjoyed their ”Secret Garden” parody.

SBS’s Inkigayo is back once again, and this week’s show was full of amazing and fun performances from the top participating K-pop artists!

SECRET says goodbye on Inkigayo + details on Ji Eun’s solo debut

After promoting for close to two months, the SECRET girls will draw a close to their ‘Shy Boy‘ promotions on today’s SBS’s “Inkigayo” episode.

The girls attained remarkable achievements this time around, with a three week hit on KBS’s “Music Bank“, a Mutizen win on SBS’s “Inkigayo,” and a win from “M! Countdown“. Unlike most songs which lose popularity towards the end of a promotion cycle, SECRET’s “Shy Boy” is still doing strong on the charts, demonstrating the song’s undeniable power.

Their representative said, “We do believe that ‘Shy Boy’’s chart ranking has a significant meaning, as it slowly climbed the charts and maintained its position there for a long time. Unlike ‘Magic‘ and ‘Madonna,’ both of which peaked at the top quickly and fell off the charts just as fast, ‘Shy Boy’ worked its way up to the top with its own power of music. It’s one of the reasons we believe that the song is so loved among the public.”

Fans of SECRET need not wait long as member, Ji Eun is set to release her solo single on March 3rd and begin promotions subsequently. Ji Eun’s solo will be a venture outside of the group’s recent success.

The representative revealed, “Ji Eun’s solo will be 180 degrees different in comparison to SECRET’s standard style. It’ll be a genre and color that not anyone could ever anticipate. The concept itself is strong as well.”

Big Bang’s Seungri was tricked by a night club manager

Big Bang’s Seungri will be a guest on the February 28th episode of SBS’s “Night After Night, Idol’s Legend.” During this episode, the idol revealed a time when he was tricked by a night club manager.

Seungri confessed, “Before my solo promotions for “Strong Baby“, I secretly went to a night club without my agency knowing, and the club manager tricked me. I wanted to go to the night club to increase my masculinity, and I only went because I believed the manager when he said that he would keep my visit out of the public’s eye. However, in order to increase sales, he purposefully publicized my visit ahead of time.”

He added, “And of all places, an acquaintance of my boss’, Yang Hyun Suk, happened to be there, so I ended up getting caught.”

To this story, Seungri added a moral, “Hoobaes (juniors), don’t believe the night club managers!”, causing much laughter in the studio.

2NE1 mentioned in fashion editorial from American ‘Vogue’!

That’s right! Girl group 2NE1 was recently referenced in the American edition of ‘Vogue‘ magazine.

In its March issue, ‘Vogue’ covered a story about fashion in South Korea titled, “South Korea: The Epicenter of the Shopping Universe“. In this article, Vogue states that “South Korea is fashion’s new Japan” and quotes Scott Sternberg from Band of Outsiders that South Korea is “at the forefront of consuming cute, chic, clean style.”

Carla Sozzani of 10 Corso Como, who recently opened a partnership with Cheil Industries, even praised Seoul for being more thrilling than New York or Paris at this time. She said, “It’s like [how] Milan used to be, and it’s very exciting for me.”

The article went on to state that the younger demographic in Korea these days are more individualistic and are seen sporting a rock-chic look. It stated, “…but the younger set are feeling rock-chic right now and are likely to be dressed in , say, a Junya Watanabe jumper with an Alexander Wang tee (see the pop band 2NE1).”

This article is very exciting for a couple reasons. First, it seems that South Korea is finally getting international recognition as a formidable fashion force. Second, the mention of 2NE1 in a major American (if not global) fashion magazine shows the increasing strength of the Hallyu Wave. Hopefully, as South Korea attracts more attention as a ‘fashion epicenter’, we’ll get to see more appearances of Korean celebrities worldwide.

Check out the article from Vogue below!
